Anna Myers
CHAIR
Anna Myers is the founding Executive Director of the Whistleblowing International Network (WIN), a network to strengthen civil society organisations that defend and support whistleblowers around the world. Anna has worked in the field of whistleblowing law and practice for over two decades.
She was Deputy Director of Public Concern at Work (now called Protect) in London and worked for the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) in Strasbourg. She advised the Council of Europe’s Committee on Legal Cooperation (CDCJ) on the 2014 CM Recommendation on the protection of whistleblowers and drafted the UNODC Resource Guide on good practices in the protection of reporting persons. Under her leadership, WIN helped secure an EU Directive to protect whistleblowers.
Cécile Marchand
Cécile is an investigative researcher working for ARIA, a non-profit organisation doing research and investigations on climate and energy. Her work focuses on fossil fuels and corporate accountability. She previously worked as an investigator and researcher for Friends of the Earth France.
Simon Ilse
Simon Ilse holds a B.A. in International Relations (Dresden, New Delhi) and a Masters in Public International Law (SOAS). He previously worked for the Secretary-General of the German Green Party in Berlin and the Greens-led Länder Government of Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart. He later joined the German political foundation Heinrich Böll Stiftung (HBS) in its Tunis office and was the Office Director of its Belgrade office from 2018 – 2022. He is currently based in Vienna, Austria as an Advisor on global connected security for HBS.
Fadel Barro
Fadel Barro is a journalist, Senegalese activist and founder of the ‘Y’en a marre’ movement. Fadel Barro has been the Ambassador of Consciousness of Amnesty International since 2016 and was The Platform to Protect Whistleblowers in Africa’s regional coordinator from 2020 until 2022.
Clara Gonzales
Clara Gonzales is legal counsel at Greenpeace France, which she joined after working as a lawyer at NGO Sherpa, where she specialized in corporate accountability for human rights violations and the environment. At Greenpeace, she works on disputes initiated by the association, risk management and defense strategy. A feminist activist, she co-founded the Macholand interpellation platform and the Women’s Foundation.
Jean-Philippe Foegle
Jean Philippe Foegle is Advocacy and litigation officer at Sherpa. Before joining Sherpa in 2022, Jean-Philippe worked as a coordinator and then as a lawyer and advocacy officer for France’s House of Whistleblowers. As such, he actively contributed to drafting and then passing France’s whistleblower protection law in 2022. Previously, Jean-Philippe held the positions of doctoral fellow and Temporary Teaching and Research Fellow at Paris Nanterre University, and Resident Fellow at the Information Society Project (Yale Law School). Simultaneously, he acted as a whistleblower protection expert for several international organisations (OIF, Council of Europe) on the issue of the protection of whistleblowers.

Gabriel Bourdon-Fattal
Co-Director
Gabriel Bourdon-Fattal is an experienced human rights jurist and campaigner. Gabriel has been working as a project manager and then director of programs at the Platform to Protect Whistleblowers in Africa (PPLAAF) since 2017. Among others, Gabriel led an organization against the deportation of migrant workers’ children and worked on environmental justice issues in the Middle East. Gabriel has an LL .B from the University of Haifa and a Master in African Legal Studies from Université Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne. Gabriel is an alumnus of the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights in Berlin and of the Our Generation Speaks Fellowship in Boston.
Henri Thulliez
Co-Director
Henri Thulliez is a lawyer and member of the Paris bar. Henri has been the director of the Platform to Protect Whistleblowers in Africa (PPLAAF) since 2020. He graduated in Law School at University of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, and holds a LLM from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) as well as a Master in International administration from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He was the coordinator at Human Rights Watch of the Hissène Habré case, the former president of Chad who was tried before a special court in Senegal.
Laura Paquemar
Program Officer
Laura graduated from Sciences Po Rennes with a master’s degree focusing on legal issues related to future generations. She is passionate about the protection of environmental defenders, especially indigenous peoples. Since the end of her studies, Laura has also been involved with the Jane Goodall Institute France, with whom she advocates for the protection of biodiversity in the world.

Peter Kalmus
Peter Kalmus is a renowned climate scientist and advocate for sustainable living. His work at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and his book, “Being the Change: Live Well and Spark a Climate Revolution,” inspire individuals to take action against climate change and adopt low-carbon lifestyles. In addition to authoring articles about climate change, he is the founder of the website noflyclimatesci.org and co-founder of the app, Earth Hero: Climate Change.
Itamar Weizman
Itamar Weizman is a partner & head of Climate-tech at Firstime Ventures and founder & chairman of Radical – Israel’s first climate book publishing. He is a lecturer at SCE College. In the past, Weizman founded V15, one of Israel’s largest grass-root movements, and was a campaigner for a variety of organizations and social causes, among them Greenpeace International.
Majd Mashharawi
Majd Mashharawi founded GreenCake in 2015, a company that creates environmentally friendly bricks from ash and rubble. In the summer of 2017 she developed SunBox, an affordable solar system that produces energy to alleviate the effects of the energy crisis in Gaza. With SunBox, she has been able to provide electricity to hundreds of people.
Zanele Mbuyisa
Zanele Mbuyisa is a director and co-founder of MBM Law Firm, with a successful track record having served her articles and has worked for UK law firm, Leigh Day. In 2005 she co-founded Garratt Mbuyisa Neale Attorneys which became Mbuyisa Neale Attorneys in 2012. She then went on to help establish Mbuyisa Moleele Attorneys in January 2017. Each of the previous law firms holds a significantly successful track record in litigation as well as settlement negotiation.
Lucas Chancel
Lucas Chancel is an economist in inequality and in environmental policy. He is a tenured Associate Professor of Economics at Sciences Po. He is also Co-Director of the World Inequality Lab at the Paris School of Economics and Senior Advisor at the European Tax Observatory.
In 2023-2024, he is a Visiting Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School and Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics.
Kert Davies
Kert Davies is the founder and director of Climate Investigations Center. He is a well-known researcher, media spokesperson and climate activist who has been conducting corporate accountability research and campaigns for more than 20 years. Davies was the chief architect of the Greenpeace web project ExxonSecrets, launched in 2004, which helped expose the oil giant ExxonMobil’s funding of organizations and individuals who work to discredit the validity of climate science and delay climate policy action.
More recently, Davies established the PolluterWatch program at Greenpeace, which launched the report Koch Industries: Secretly Funding the Climate Denial Machine.
Alejandra Ancheita
Alejandra Ancheita, founder and Executive Director of the Mexico City-based NGO ProDESC (The Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Project), is a Mexican lawyer and activist, leader of the human rights movement for migrants, workers, and indigenous communities of her native country.
Since founding ProDESC in 2005, she and her team have run strategic campaigns aimed at protecting the economic, social, and cultural rights of Mexico’s most marginalized people.
Alejandra is one of the leading Latin American voices in the human rights movement. She has spoken in various international forums, as well as arguing cases before the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights and national courts.
